Check for data errors in a form
Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 automatically checks the information you enter into a form for data errors as you type. If a problem with the information you type into a form is found, you will be presented with either a traditional dialog box alert or an inline alert.
- Type into the form.
- Do one of the following:
- Read the error message, and then click OK.
- Make the appropriate corrections.
- To display a short description of the problem,
rest your pointer over the field to read a ScreenTip, or right-click the field and read the first item on the shortcut menu.
Note Certain errors may also include a Full error description command on the shortcut menu. You can click this command to view additional information about the problem.
- Make the appropriate corrections.
- To go to the next error in the form, click Go to Next Error on the Tools menu.
Notes
- If you forget to enter data into a required field, a red asterisk will appear instead of an inline alert. To make the red asterisk disappear, enter a value in the field.
