- On the File menu, click Fill Out a Form.
- Under Open a form in the Fill Out a Form dialog box, click Open.
- In the Files of type box in the Open dialog box, click Form Templates.
- Browse to and click the form you want to open, and then click Open.
To fill out a new, blank form based on a form that is currently open, click Fill Out a Form on the Standard toolbar. The form will open in a new window.
- On the File menu, click Fill Out a Form.
- Under Open a form in the Fill Out a Form dialog box, click Open.
- In the Files of type box in the Open dialog box, click Forms.
- Browse to and click the form you want to open, and then click Open.
Note To open a form located in a form library, click My Network Places, and then select the form library from the folder list.
Open a form in design mode
- On the File menu, click Design a Form.
- Under Design a new form in the Design a Form task pane, click New Blank Form.
- On the File menu, click Design a Form.
- Under Design a new form in the Design a Form task pane, click Customize a Sample.
- In the Customize a Sample dialog box, select the form you want to customize.
- On the File menu, click Design a Form.
- Under Open a form in design mode in the Design a Form task pane, click On My Computer.
- Browse to and click the form template you want to open, and then click Open.
Open a form library's form template
- On the File menu, click Design a Form.
- Under Open a form in design mode in the Design a Form task pane, click On a SharePoint Site.
- In the Open from SharePoint site dialog box, type the location of the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services site that contains the form library you want to open, click Next, and then select the form library you want to open.
When you are filling out a form, to open it in design mode, click Design This form on the Standard toolbar.
