Customize a sample form
When you customize a sample form, you can work with the form in many of the same ways you would when designing a new blank form. For example, you can insert controls, insert fields and groups in the data source, add data validation and conditional formatting, and publish the form.
- In the Fill Out a Form dialog box, click Design a Form.
Note If the Fill Out a Form dialog box isn't visible, open the Design a Form task pane by clicking Design a Form on the File menu.
- Under Design a new form in the Design a Form task pane, click Customize a Sample.
- In the Customize a Sample dialog box, double-click the sample form you want to customize.
Notes
- When you customize a sample form, the following limitations apply:
- You cannot automatically create the data source when inserting controls.
- You cannot modify existing fields or groups in the data source.
- Depending on the sample form, you might not be able to add fields or groups to part of the data source.
- The information in this topic may not apply if you are working with a form designed using Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 without the service pack installed. Learn more
