Hall Effect Sensors
If Hall Effect sensors are available in the system, the controller can estimate the commutation phase based on the state of the Hall effect sensors. After a Hall state transition, the controller calculates the phase angle based on the transition location.
To obtain the maximum torque, perform a move that is 1/6th of the encoder count per electrical cycle after system initialization. Refer to the Connecting Brushless Servo Motors section of Chapter 2, Configuration and Installation, in the NI 7350 User Manual for Hall effect sensor connection information.
