NI SoftMotion Controller Considerations

The following list includes considerations for using this function with the NI SoftMotion Controller:

  • When you import settings for the NI SoftMotion Controller, MAX verifies if the axes in the imported settings are physically connected. If any of the axes in the imported settings are not physically connected or are not working, the axes are marked as disconnected. To reconnect the settings for a disconnected axis, ensure that the drive ID and drive type match the axis in the settings file. To reconnect the axis, right-click the axis and select Reconnect Axis.
  • If the NI SoftMotion Controller is not in the reset state, you must reset it to connect the axis.
