Copying Device Settings
You can use Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) to copy and paste device settings in the Initialization Settings dialog box.
Complete the following steps to copy device settings:
- Launch MAX.
- Expand Devices and Interfaces in the configuration tree.
- Expand NI–Motion Devices, and then expand the item for the appropriate motion controller.
- Right-click Default xxxx Settings in the configuration tree.
- Select Initialization Settings»Change Current Settings.
- Right-click the settings you want to copy and select Copy.
- Right-click anywhere in the Initialization Settings dialog box and select Paste to paste the settings file you copied.
- Rename the copied settings file as appropriate.
- Click Change to apply the newly renamed settings to the currently selected device.
Note If you do not want to apply the newly renamed settings to the currently selected device, click Do Not Change.
Copying Parameters
You also can copy parameters from the settings for one device to the settings for another device.
Complete the following steps to copy parameters:
- Launch MAX.
- Expand Devices and Interfaces in the configuration tree.
- Expand NI–Motion Devices, and then expand the item for the appropriate motion controller.
- Right-click Default xxxx Settings in the configuration tree.
- Select Initialization Settings»Copy Settings from, and then select the initialization settings you want to copy the parameters from.
Copying the parameters from the initialization settings you selected changes all of the parameters in the current initialization settings to the parameters in the initialization settings you selected, as applicable. If the current initialization settings include parameters that are not included in the initialization settings you are copying from, the additional parameters are not overwritten.
