Save a form
When you save a form you have filled out, it is saved with an .xml file name extension. When you save a form in design mode, you are actually saving a form template, which is saved with an .xsn file name extension.
To quickly save a form or form template you are working on, click
Save
on the
Standard toolbar.
- On the File menu, click Save.
- In
the Save As dialog box, specify
where you want to save the form.
Note If you want others to have access to your form, save it to a shared location, such as a form library on a Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services site.
- In the File name box, type a name for the form, and then click Save.
Save a form template in design mode

- In the File name box, type a name for the form.
- To specify an easily recognizable name for the form, which will appear on the Fill Out a Form and Design a Form task panes, click Change Name, and then, in the Change Name dialog box, type a new name for the form.
