Modify a list
When filling out a form, you can modify lists you have inserted into rich text fields. However, you can not modify lists that are a part of the form template. When designing a form, you can format lists and list controls.
Change the appearance of a list
- Select the list you want to modify.
Note In design mode, if you want to format a list control, select it by clicking on the Type List label that appears below the list.
- On the Format menu, click Bullets and Numbering.
- In the Bullets and Numbering task pane, select the formatting options you want.
Note When filling out a form, if the bullets or numbering options are not available for the list you want to modify, you may be attempting to modify a list that is a part of the form template.
Change the starting number of a list
When filling out a form, you can change the numbering of lists you have inserted into a field, but not lists that are part of the form template. When designing a form, you can change the numbering of all lists and list controls.
- Select the list you want to change.
Note In design mode, if you want to format a list control, select it by clicking on the Type List label that appears below the list.
- On the Format menu, click Bullets and Numbering.
- In the
Start numbering with box in the
Bullets and Numbering task
pane, select
the number you want to start with.
Note For lists formatted with letters, the starting number corresponds to the equivalent letter in the alphabet. For example, 5 as the starting number would be equivalent to E as the starting letter.
