Add or remove percent formatting for a number

To display a number as a percentage, you can format the text box or expression box so that numbers display their values as percentages. For example, a value of 0.2 would be displayed as 20. This formatting works both for display and data entry— if a user types 30 into a text box that has a percent data format, the saved value would be 0.30.

  1. In design mode, right-click the text box or expression box whose data you want to format, and then click Properties.
  2. On the Data tab or the General tab in the Properties dialog box, click Format.

Note  You can add percent formatting only for text boxes that have a decimal data type or for expression boxes that are formatted as a decimal.

  3. In the Decimal Format dialog box, do one of the following:
    • To format the number as a percentage, click Percentage.
    • To remove percent formatting, click Number.

Note  Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 does not add percent symbols to numbers that are formatted as percentages. To add a percent symbol to a control's label, click where you want the percent symbol to appear and type %.
