You can save documents created in Microsoft Office Document Imaging in Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) or in Microsoft Document Imaging Format (MDI).

Note   When you save a file in Office Document Imaging, the optical character recognition (OCR) text is saved within the TIFF or MDI file. If you open and save a TIFF file that contains OCR text using another program, the OCR text will be lost. You must run OCR again using Office Document Imaging if you want to access the text in the TIFF file.
