Make annotations permanent
Make annotations a permanent part of your document if you want to share the document with users who do not have Office Document Imaging and you want them to see the annotations. You can make annotations permanent in the open document only, or you can make annotations permanent each time you save a document.
Do one of the following:
Make annotations permanent in the open document
- On the Tools menu, point to Annotations, and then click Make Annotations Permanent.
Make annotations permanent every time you save a document
- On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Annotations tab.
- Select the Make annotations permanent when document is saved check box.
Note When you make annotations permanent, text that was added as an annotation will be recognized after you run optical character recognition (OCR).
