Preset Options dialog box - Processing tab

Use this dialog box to specify settings that control optical character recognition (OCR) and scanning.

Option Description
Use OCR to recognize the text of the scanned image Microsoft Office Document Imaging runs OCR automatically after scanning is completed. If this option is turned off, the rest of the options on this tab are unavailable.
Auto rotate Select this check box to detect the orientation of text on the page and rotate scanned pages that are upside down or sideways.
Auto straighten Select this check box to detect the orientation of text on the page and correct pages that are slightly misaligned.
OCR Language Lists the available languages for OCR. Select the language you want to use.

Note  Using the Auto rotate and Auto straighten options may slow down the scanning process. If you are scanning at a higher resolution, using either of these options also reduces the resolution to 900 dots per inch.
