Indexing Service dialog box
Indexing is a special service that enables fast file searches on your computer. Text found in files on your computer is added to the index, which also stores a reference to the file in which the text was found.
Note You must have administrator permissions to change settings in this dialog box because indexing is a system service.

Use OCR to recognize the text in TIFF and MDI files when indexing | Select this check box to perform optical character recognition (OCR) on Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) and Microsoft Document Imaging Format (MDI) files when the Windows Indexing Service compiles search indexes. This allows the Microsoft Windows search function to access text in TIFF and MDI files that do not already contain OCR information. |
Auto rotate | Select this check box to detect the orientation of text on the page and perform OCR on images that are upside down or sideways. |
OCR Language | Lists the available languages for OCR. Select the language you want to use. |
