- Select the pages or part of a single page that you want to export.
- On the
Tools menu, click
Send Text to Word,
and then select the options
you want.
To include pictures in the selection sent to Word, select the Maintain pictures in output check box.
To change the default location for the new Microsoft Word document, click Browse and then select a new location.

Click OK.
Notes
- If nothing on the page has been selected, the Current selection option is disabled.
- You cannot export anything from a document until optical character recognition (OCR) has been performed. If OCR has not been performed, a dialog box appears, allowing you to run OCR immediately.
- Highlighting, and freeform drawings, and pictures that have been added as annotations are not exported, and text that has been added as an annotation is not exported unless you have made annotations permanent and performed OCR in the document.
- On the View toolbar, click Select .
- Select the text by dragging the mouse.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy.
- Switch to the program into which you want to paste the text, and then use that program's paste command.
Notes
- You cannot copy text until optical character recognition (OCR) has been performed on the document.
- Text that has been added as an annotation is not included when you copy text to another program unless you have made annotations permanent and performed OCR in the document.
When you drag the mouse to select text in Microsoft Office Document Imaging, only the words within or touching the selection rectangle are selected. If you hold down the ALT key while dragging, Office Document Imaging selects all scanned text that appears between the first and last words in the selection, whether or not the words lie within the selection rectangle.
If
the page you are copying has a simple layout, such as a single column of type,
the text is copied in a linear string, similar to the way it was originally
entered. If the page is more complex
Copy pictures or artwork to another program
- On the View toolbar, click Select .
- Select the picture or artwork by dragging the mouse.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy Image.
- Switch to the program into which you want to paste the picture or artwork, and then use that program's paste command.
Note Annotations are included when you use the Copy Image command.
