You can "zoom in" to get a close-up view of your document or "zoom out" to see more of the page at a reduced size. Do any of the following:
- On the View menu, point to Zoom, and then click the zoom setting you want.
- To get a close-up view of your document, click Zoom In on the View toolbar until you have the view you want.
- To see more of the page at a reduced size, click Zoom Out on the View toolbar until you have the view you want.
Change the position of your page on-screen
You can pan to change the on-screen position of pages in documents that are displayed at a large zoom percentage.
- On the View menu, click Pan.
The mouse cursor changes from an arrow to a hand.
- Click and drag the page as needed.
Note Panning has no effect if the entire page is visible on the screen.
Use Reading view to read scanned documents on the screen more easily. Reading view presents the current document and hides most nonessential screen elements, including the Microsoft Windows taskbar.
- On the View menu, click Reading View.
Scroll and zoom by using the Microsoft IntelliMouse or other pointing device
Some mouse devices and other pointing devices, such as the Microsoft IntelliMouse, have built-in scrolling and zooming capabilities. For more information, see the instructions for your pointing device.
Annotation options
Change predefined pen or highlighter color, thickness, or tip style
- On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Annotations tab.
- In the Options dialog box, click Pen Settings.
- Do one of the following:
Change predefined highlighter settings
- In the Pen & Highlighter Settings dialog box, click the Highlighter Settings tab.
- In the Current highlighters list, click the predefined highlighter you want to change.
- Select the color, thickness and tip style you want.
Change predefined pen settings
- In the Pen & Highlighter Settings dialog box, click the Pen Settings tab.
- In the Current Pens list, click the predefined pen you want to change.
- Select the color, thickness and tip style you want.
Change textbox default font, color, or transparency
- On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Annotations tab.
- Do one of the following:
- To change the default font, click Format Font, and then select the options you want.
- To change the default text box color, click the color you want in the Fill Color list.
- To change the text box transparency, select the option you want in the Fill Transparency box, where 0% is a solid color and 100% is no color.
