To change the way your name appears to other people

1. Make sure you are on the Personal tab of the Options dialog box.

    To get there: In the Windows Messenger main window, click the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Personal tab.

2. In the box, type your new name.

People who have you on their contact list will see your new name immediately.

 Note

• Your display name cannot be your e-mail address.
