Control the sound level of a call

Windows Messenger .NET

To control the sound level of a call

When you are in a call, you can adjust your sound equipment in the conversation window for a computer-to-computer call.

  • To control loudness, move the Speakers slider to the right to increase volume and to the left to decrease volume.
  • To turn off your microphone so that you cannot be heard, move the Microphone slider to the far left. To be heard again, move the slider to the far right.

* Notes

  • Before you start placing any calls, you should run the Audio and Video Tuning Wizard (Tools, Audio Tuning Wizard). It allows you to select your audio devices and set your sound levels properly.
  • If you hear an echo, move your speakers farther apart from each other and away from your microphone. You are less likely to hear echoes if you use a headset.
