Use ink in the conversation window

Windows Messenger .NET

To use ink in the conversation window

You will see the tools for writing in the conversation window toolbar: the pen, the eraser, the selection tool—if you are in a conversation with a contact who can receive ink.

To write:

  1. On the conversation window toolbar, tap Pen.
  2. Use the tablet pen to write or draw your instant message.

    Your ink might be lighter or darker depending on the pressure you apply.

  3. To send the message, tap Send.

To erase ink:

  1. On the conversation window toolbar, tap Eraser.
  2. Drag the tablet pen over the ink that you want to erase.

To select ink:

  1. On the conversation window toolbar, tap Selection.
  2. Draw a loop around the item that you want to select.

    When the box with handles appears, you can resize, move, or delete the selection. (You cannot select part of an object.)

* Notes

  • If your ink message cannot be delivered, it may be because it is too large. To send a longer message, tap Use Ink to turn it off, and then use the In-Place Input Panel to convert your handwriting to text.
  • The Emoticons button is replaced by the ink tools, so you can draw your own emoticons.
  • If you are in a corporation, ink capability could be turned off by your network administrator.
