Serial Quick Connect Options

When Serial is selected as the Protocol in the Quick Connect dialog, the connection A data path or circuit between two computers over a phone line, network cable, or other means. options are as follows:

Port

The serial port (COM1, COM2, etc.) used by the session A session is a set of options that are assigned to a connection to a remote machine. These settings and options are saved under a session name and allow the user to have different preferences for different hosts. .

Baud rate

Select the baud rate for the device. The default value is 38400. The baud rate can be changed from the Session Options/Connect/Serial dialog while a session is connected.

Data bits

The number of communication data bits. The default value is 8.

Parity

Choose the parity setting supported by the connected device. The default setting is None.

Stop bits

The number of stop bits sent after each character. The default value is 1.

DTR/DSR

Select this option to use the DTR/DSR (data-terminal-ready/data-set-ready) signals with the connected device. By default, this is not selected.

RTS/CTS

Select this option to use RTS/CTS (request-to-send/clear-to-send) hardware flow control. By default, this option is selected.

XON/XOFF

Select this option to use XON/XOFF software flow control. By default, this option is not selected.
