This exercise illustrates differences between object tables that have the Create Table Object option on the Table Definition dialog selected, and object tables that do not have this option selected.
Open the Tutorial1 project and the Lesson-11.dwg file.
Create a new line table, making sure the Create Table Object option on the Line Table Definition dialog box is not selected, and typing NOT TABLE OBJECT into the Table Title Text box. Insert this line table onto your drawing.
Create another line table, this time selecting the Create Table Object option on the Line Table Definition dialog box, and typing IS TABLE OBJECT into the Table Title Text box.
Insert this table next to the first one, so they are either side-by-side, or one above the other.
In the NOT TABLE OBJECT table, select any grid line in the table. Note that only the line you clicked on is selected, not the entire table. If you move this line, only that lines moves.
In the IS TABLE OBJECT table, select any grid line in the table. Note that the entire table is selected, not just the line you clicked on. If you move the selected line, the table does not move.
In the IS TABLE OBJECT table, click the upper left corner handle. The entire table is selected. To move this type of table, click on the upper left corner handle and drag the table to a new location.
In the NOT TABLE OBJECT table, select the entire table using a window or crossing selection. To move this type of table, click on any part of the table, while the entire table is selected, and move it to a new location.
This concludes the object table lesson. In the next lesson, you'll learn about the Terrain Model Explorer.
