In this exercise, you will create a new surface folder for a new surface, Area1.
On the Terrain menu, click Terrain Model Explorer to display the Terrain Model Explorer.
Select Terrain, and then right-click and click Create New Surface.
The new surface is automatically assigned the name Surface1 and a new folder is created below the Terrain folder.
Click on the Surface1 folder and display information regarding the surface in the right pane.
Expand the Surface1 folder to view the TIN data folders.
Select Surface1, and then right-click and click Rename to display the Rename Surface dialog box.
Enter Area1 for the New surface name, and then click OK.
Now you are ready to specify the data for creating the new surface.
