General Page (FTP Site Properties Dialog Box)
The General Properties page lets you enter or modify basic FTP properties. You must supply valid information for all of the options to connect to a remote host.
Host Address—Specifies the host name or IP address.
- TCP/IP Port—Specifies the server (host) port number. The port number that automatically displays depends on the security option you select. The default port 21 corresponds to the following security options:
For SSH connections, the default port is 22. For SSL implicit connections, it is 990.

If a port value other than the default is chosen for the corresponding security option, the value is remembered for the site. |
User Name—Specifies your login user name.
- Anonymous—Select if you are logging into an anonymous site. You can specify the password for anonymous connections in the FTP General Page (Hummingbird Neighborhood Options Dialog Box).
Password—Specifies your login password.
Account—Specifies your login account, if necessary.
Initial Directory—Specifies a startup directory when you are connected.
- Root to this Directory—Enables the initial directory to become the root directory on the remote host.
Security—Specifies the type of security you want to use, if any. If you specify a security type, click Configure to access the settings.
- Configure—Opens the appropriate dialog box for configuring settings for the security type you selected in the Security box.
