Viewing Files

Hummingbird FTP provides a View feature that lets you open a remote file for viewing. When you choose this option, Hummingbird FTP saves the file in a temporary directory on your PC and launches the associated application.

To view a file:

  1. Establish an FTP connection with the selected FTP server.
  2. Make sure that you have set the appropriate FTP transfer mode (that is, ASCII, binary, or Auto Select).
  3. In the Exploring window, right-click the FTP file and click View.

If there is no program associated with the file, Hummingbird FTP uses Notepad to display the file.
