FTP General Page (Hummingbird Neighborhood Options Dialog Box)

Use the options on the FTP General page to specify general FTP options.

Double-click an FTP File to—Specifies the operation FTP performs when you double-click a file. You can either view or download the file.

Default file Viewer—Specifies the program that FTP uses to launch a downloaded file. The default program is Notepad. Click the browse button to select another program.

Trace File—Specifies the name of the file that FTP uses to store information when tracing an FTP session. Click the browse button to select another file name or location.

Default Anonymous Password—Specifies the password that FTP uses when you select Anonymous on the General tab for an FTP profile.

Show Console Window—Displays a small console window below the file listings.

Always Use Default Viewer—Uses the specified default file viewer instead of the program in which the document was created.

Treat Untested Links as Directories—When the Automatically Resolve Links option is not selected, selecting Treat Untested Links As Directories results in FTP treating all untested links on the remote host as directories. When the Automatically Resolve Links option is selected, FTP treats all untested links as files.

Number of Seconds to Wait Before Showing the ‘Cancel Directory Retrieval’ Dialog—Specifies the number of seconds to wait before the Cancel Retrieve Directory dialog box opens. Select “0” if you do not want this dialog box to open.
