Creating and Managing 5250 Data Transfer Profiles

5250 data transfer profiles are displayed in Hummingbird Neighborhood and contain all the settings required to connect to a remote host, such as the host name and your login credentials, and settings for the file transfer. For example, you can enable directory caching, specify a code page, and configure options for downloading and uploading files.

To create a profile:

  1. In the Hummingbird Neighborhood window, click New 5250 Data Transfer Profile. The 5250 Data Transfer Properties dialog box opens.
  2. In the boxes provided on the General page, type the host name or IP address, and then type your user name and password for that host.
  3. On the Advanced page, set the transfer options.
  4. Click OK.

The new profile appears in the Hummingbird Neighborhood window. It is named after the host you specified. To connect to the host, double-click the profile.

To edit, rename, or delete a profile:

Right-click the profile, and then click the related menu item.
