Synchronizing Files Using the Command Line

You can use the command line to synchronize your files and directories. This feature lets you schedule synchronization tasks using Windows Scheduler or any other scheduling software.

To synchronize a file from the command line:

  1. On the Windows Start menu, click Run.
  2. Type the path to the synchronization application in Hummingbird FTP. For example:

…\Connectivity\version\HostExplorer\FTP\HNSYNCH

where version is the version number of the product you are running.
  1. Enter the following parameter:

-n Event

where Event is the name of the synchronization event you want to execute. For example, if you wanted to execute a synchronization event named “SalesReport” then you would run the following command:

-n SalesReport
