Transferring 5250 Data

5250 file transfer functionality works in much the same manner as Hummingbird FTP. It lets you transfer one or more files by dragging and dropping the files between the remote host and the local file system.

You define a 5250 connection by configuring and saving a data transfer profile, which is then displayed in Hummingbird Neighborhood. These profiles also let you set options for directories, downloading, and uploading. When you open the profile, you can browse the remote file system and transfer data to and from it.

Note:
You can also perform data transfers to and from 5250 systems using the HostExplorer 5250 Data Transfer Wizard. The wizard does not let you drag and drop files. However, it does let you perform SQL queries. For more information, see HostExplorer help.
