MX + B Manipulates normal display readings (X) mathematically according to the calculation Y = MX + B.

X is the normal display reading. Multiplier (M) is the constant you define for multiplier, B is the constant you define for offset, and Y is the result that displays.

dB, %Ref The reference value used for decibels (dB) and percent calculations.
dBm Zref The reference value used for dBm calculations.

When you click the dBm calculation button in the front panel, IVI Soft Front Panels—DMM calculates power in dBm using the input voltage reading and the Zref value you specify. The relationship between dBm, a reference impedance, and the voltage is defined by the following equation:

                         (Vin^2 / Zref)
dBm = 10 log ----------------------
                              1mW

Vin is the DC or AC dBm input signal, and Zref is the specified reference impedance.
