Sets or retrieves the status of the script.

Syntax

HTML<SCRIPT DEFER ... >
ScriptingSCRIPT.defer [ = bDefer ]

Possible Values

bDeferBoolean that specifies or receives one of the following values.
falseDefault. Inline executable function is not deferred.
trueInline executable function is deferred.

The property is read/write. The property has a default value of false.

Remarks

Using the attribute at design time can improve the download performance of a page because the browser does not need to parse and execute the script and can continue downloading and parsing the page instead.
