Introduction to DOF

Broadly, the term depth of field (DOF) describes the distance in front of and behind a focus point that appears sharp in a photograph.
Focus Point in Vanda Engine 1 is the main point of focus that stands out from everything else. Focus Range in Vanda Engine 1 is the distance in front of and behind the Focus Point. Any instanced geometry or skin that stands in between [Focus Point + Focus Range] and [Focus Point - Focus Range] appears sharp in your scene. The depth of field in Vanda Engine 1 does not abruptly change from sharp to unsharp, but instead occurs as a gradual transition. In fact, everything immediately in front of or in back of the focusing distance begins to lose sharpness.

DOF. (A) and (C) instanced geometries are blurred, while (B) instanced geometries are sharp
