Alpha Map
  

Alpha map in Vanda Engine 1 is a texture that is applied to a 3D object and designates certain areas of the object to be discarded. So the alpha texture in Vanda Engine 1 is a black & white image containing information about where a specific object exists and where it does not.

To apply an Alpha Map to a geometry or skin, follow these steps:
·    Select the skin or instanced geometry you want to apply Alpha Map to its geometry.
·    Click the button or go to Modify | Geometry | Material... menu.
·    Click the Alpha... button. This opens a standard File dialog that lets you select a DDS file.
·    Select your desired Alpha Map and Click Open.
 
To remove an Alpha Map from a skin or geometry, follow these steps:
·    Select the skin or instanced geometry.
·    Click the button or go to Modify | Geometry | Material... menu.
·    Now select the - button next to the Alpha button.
·    In a new dialog box that appears, click Yes button.
