Connecting Using the Command Line Window

You can open a connection to an FTP server using the command line window.

To connect using the command line window:

  1. On the Window menu, click New Command Line Window.
  2. Type Open and specify the name or IP address of the FTP server to which you want to connect, for example: Open ftp.hummingbird.com.
  3. After connecting successfully, specify your user name and password when prompted.
    Note:
If you have trouble opening a connection, verify that the server name or IP address is correct. If you still cannot connect, verify that the FTP server machine is up and running.
