For more information on the use and syntax of a specific FTP prompt command, click the command in the list below. The description includes the command syntax. Parameters in italics are optional and should be included only when appropriate. If you leave out a parameter when you type a command, FTP prompts you for the required information.

These are the only commands that FTP recognizes regardless of an open FTP connection to a server.
