Setting the Type of File to be Transferred

FTP transfers files in one of two formats: ASCII (for text files) or Binary (to transfer an exact copy of a binary file). By default, the transfer type is set to Auto. Auto attempts to detect the type of file you are transferring.

To set the file-transfer type, select the appropriate transfer format (ASCII, Binary, Auto) on the Options menu.
