Transferring Files Using the Put Command (File Menu)

You can transfer files from your PC to the FTP server (host) by using the Put command on the File menu.

To transfer files using the Put command:

  1. Open the PC directory window by selecting New Client Window on the Window menu.
  2. In the PC directory window, select the file(s) that you want to copy to the FTP server.
  3. On the Options menu, select the file-transfer type. Select Binary Transfer for image files, ASCII Transfer for text files, or Auto to have FTP detect the file-transfer type.
  4. On the File menu, click Put.
  5. In the To box, type the destination.
  6. Click OK.

If you do not specify a name for the FTP server copy, or if you are copying multiple files, FTP uses the source file names. If you do not specify a path for the FTP server copy, FTP uses the current directory.

Note:
You can also use the standard Windows Explorer drag-and-drop feature to transfer files.
