Configuring an Alternate Parsing Method

You can configure FTP to use an alternate parsing method for the directory host listing. This is important for users listing and transferring extremely large files internationally.

FTP does not create the ftp.ini file. You need to create the file yourself using a text editor. In the text editor, type settings, then save the file in the user directory as ftp.ini.

To configure an alternate parsing method:

1. Open the ftp.ini file.
2. Under settings, type AlternateParse=1.
3. On the File menu, click Save.
