To look up words on the internet:

  1. Position your cursor in a word or select several words
  2. Press ALT+1 or ALT+2 etc. depending on the service you intend to use

Or right-click in the main window:

  • to keep writing full screen in WriteMonkey
  • while your lookup loads on the other screen

Adding Lookup Entries

To add lookup-targets:

  1. Go to a suitable website and enter a test query
  2. Check what the URL looks like.
    • Your search term should be part of the URL
    • If not, the site is not compatible with this feature
  3. Copy the URL into WM's dialog
  4. Check the word seperator:
    • Most sites use '+' sign
    • Others like Wikipedia use the underscore '_'
  5. Replace search term with [lookup] placeholder
