Payroll Database Setup
After the SYS Database is created, the Payroll Tax icon appears on the Server Manager main window. The words Payroll Tax appear in red.
To set up the Payroll (ST) database, follow these steps:
-
Right-click on Payroll Tax and select Install. The Install Payroll Tax dialog box appears.
-
The Name and Description fields are unavailable.
-
When creating the ST database, you should estimate how big it will be when filled with data. If the initial size that appears in the Initial Size box is not large enough for what your database requires, change the number. Once created, the database size automatically grows as you add information. To change how the database grows, use Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Manager.
-
The Template Folder box displays the default path where the Server Manager template file is installed. Should you need to locate the Template.tsm file, use the Browse button to search for it.
-
Click OK. The Status tab appears and displays Server Manager’s progress as it creates tables, views (queries for tables), and stored procedures for the ST Database.
-
When finished, Completed appears on the Status tab and the following message box appears: “Payroll Tax Routines created. Refer to log for any messages.” Click OK.
-
Click Close to exit the Install Payroll Tax dialog box and return to the Server Manager main window.
Server Manager prompts you to set up a sample company (CPU by default).
Add Year
To create a new year for payroll taxes and copy the information from an existing payroll year, follow these steps:
-
Right-click the Payroll Tax icon in the left column of the Server Manager main screen.
-
Select Add Year from the right-click menu. The Payroll Tax dialog box appears.
-
In the Copy From box, select the year from which you want to copy payroll tax information.
-
Type the year you are creating in the Add Year text box. Click OK.
