Menu and Dependency

Use the Menu and Dependency... function to view application information, the menus and functions within those applications, and to specify dependency of new objects for custom solutions.

Note: This function is designed for developers and technical consultants. Permissions issues occur if this function is not used properly. See your VAR or technical consultant for more information

  1. Click the down arrow of the Function menu and select Menu and Dependency... from the box. The Menu and Dependency... dialog box appears.

  2. Click Main Menu to view applications or click an application or a menu within an application to view a menu or function. The following application and menu information appears:

  • The number assigned to the item type: form (2), report (3), macro (4), module (5), comment (6), function (7), menu (8), crystal (9), DAP (10), or document (11).

  • The object name for the menu item

  • The number that represents the order of the menu item on the menu

  • The parameter value for the menu item

  • Whether the item is hidden

  • The application ID for the menu item

  1. In the left column of the main window, expand the application menu to view the application function level. The Server Objects and Dependent Objects section of the dialog box appears.

  2. Select a Server Object and click the right arrow button to move the object to the Dependent Object column. This makes the menu function dependent on that object and grants permission to the object when setting up menu security. See Define Application Security for more information.

  3. Select a Dependent Object and click the left arrow button to remove an the object.

  4. Click the screen to return to the main menu.
