Error Log

Use the Error Log to ensure that processes are completed successfully (for example, backup and restore operations, batch commands, or other scripts and processes). The log is helpful for detecting any current or potential problem areas.

Note: In order to view a list of errors, you must select the Maintain Error Log check box (Options tab) using the System Manager Company Information function within the Company Setup menu.

To generate the error log, follow these steps:

  1. Click the down arrow of the Function menu Function Menu and select Error Log... from the box. The **Error Log dialog box appears.

  2. Accept the default (current) date or click the Include From down arrow and select a different date from the box.

    The following information for the date you specify appears:

  • Date and time the error occurred

  • Error message number and text

  • Name of the module and procedure where the error occurred

  • User’s login name

  • Machine number being used where the error occurred.

  • Name of the company database being used

  • Description of the function where the action occurred

  1. Close the screen to return to the main menu.
