Options Tab

If you want to specify where databases are created, click the Options tab. The default path for the data and log folders appears.

Note: The Advanced Options tab is reserved for future use.

  1. Change the location of the data and log folders either by clicking in the text boxes and typing the location or by using the browse button.

  2. Select the Permit ‘Public’ Role check box if you want everyone to be able to access the company once it is created; otherwise, only the database owner (administrator) has permission to use the company until specific rights are granted using the Menu Security function.

  3. Select the Save DTS Package Definition check box if you want to automatically execute the data migration and save your packages for future reference.

  4. When you are finished, click OK. The Status tab appears and displays Server Manager’s progress as it creates the new company database.

  5. When the database is created, Completed appears on the Status tab and the following message box appears: “New Company Database created. Refer to log for any messages.” Click OK.
