Gamma

Use Gamma to adjust the gamma for the entire image. This setting affects the tone values of scanned images. To adjust the image gamma, you can specify a Gamma value between 0.01 and 5.00. A higher gamma value yields an overall lighter tone of the color channels you make adjustments for.
  • Drag the slider to set the gamma value. Dragging to the left decreases the gamma value and dragging to the right increases it. The changes you make with the slider are automatically displayed in the related box, and vice-versa.
  • You can also use the spin buttons, or type a specific value in the Gamma box to adjust the image gamma. To increase the gamma value, click the arrow pointing up. To decrease the gamma value, click the arrow pointing down.
When entering a value in the Gamma box, specify a value between 0.01 and 5.00. Ordinarily, good results can be obtained from your scanner using the default value of 1.
View the image in the preview box and make further adjustments if needed.
