Document Type

The settings that you specify for Document Type define the limits of the area to be scanned. You can select one of the standard page formats, or set the custom page size. If the format of the source page is larger than the area defined by these settings, only a part of the source image or document will be scanned.
  • To select a standard page size for the resulting image, select the standard page format in the Document Type list.
  • To set the custom page size for the resulting image, do the following:
    1. In the Unit list, select the units (mm, cm, inch, point, pixel or pica) for the document width and height values.
    2. In the Width box, enter the resulting page width. Note that the width of the image area selected for scanning is equal to the value you entered in the Width box.
    3. In the Height box, enter the resulting page height. Note that the height of the image area selected for scanning is equal to the value you entered in the Height box.
If you want to convert the custom page size to other units, select new units in the Unit list. The width and height values will be automatically recalculated and displayed in the corresponding boxes using selected units.
