Perceptual Intent — this rendering intent tries to preserve some relationship between out-of-gamut colors, even if this results in inaccuracies for gamut colors. If certain colors in an image fall outside of the normal range of colors, the perceptual intent will cause all the colors in the image to be adjusted so that every color in the image falls within the range that can be rendered. Relative Intent — this rendering intent tries to preserve a nearly exact relationship between in-gamut colors, even if this clips out-of-gamut colors. If certain colors in an image fall outside of the normal range of colors, the relative intent will cause all the colors in the image to be adjusted to the closest color that can be rendered, while all other colors are left unchanged. Saturation Intent — this rendering intent tries to preserve saturated colors and is most useful when trying to retain color purity in computer graphics when converting into a larger color space. Saturation intent preserves the saturation of colors in the image at the possible expense of hue and lightness.
