ChordMap Buttons

New Project

Brings up a dialog to create a new Project.

Load Project

Load all Project files from the containing folder that have the same qualifier as the selected file.

ChordFiles can have the qualifier .chp0 to .chp9 inclusively. If there is more than one of these files present in the directory, a dialog will be shown to allow you to select which ChordFile you want to load.

You can also load a Project by dragging and dropping a file or folder onto the PlayMap, ChordMap, or TrackMap.

Save Project

Save all of the files in a Project to disk.

Click with right mouse button to show what files will be saved.

Save Project As...

Save all of the files in a Project to a new location on disk.

GoTo Start

Set Start Bar to start of MidiFile

Play Midi

Play the MidiFile from Start Bar

Play Audio / Play Audio NoSyn

Play the AudioFile.

If synchronisation data is available, the button will show Play Audio, and the the cursor will move according to the synchronisation data in the AudioSync file.

Otherwise, the button will show Play Audio NoSyn. Synchronisation can still be done manually using the Next Beat SwitchKey.

Sync Audio

Play AudioFile and wait for sync SwitchKey

Play & Sync Audio

Play AudioFile using synchronisation from the AudioSyncFile until reaching the SyncBar, and then wait for the sync SwitchKey

This will allow you to continue a partially sync'ed audiofile.

Stop Play

Stop playing MidiFile or AudioFile

Pause Play

Pause playing MidiFile or AudioFile

! (Panic)

Panic!

Switch off all midi events

Useful if midi pitch is continuously sounding

Track Map

Show the TrackMap Window

Audio Sync Config

Show AudioSync Window

You can use this to manage audio sync data.

Show Summ

Show MidiFile summary for each track.

Options to show preconfigured chord names and MidiFile time signatures, tempos and keys

Edit Lyrics

Opens up a Window with a simple text editor for updating the Lyrics File.

The easiest way to enter lyrics is to copy and paste the text from an online source into the editor. You can then use the editor window to match each bar with the lyrics.

The Lyrics File (*.chl) in the Project folder can also be edited by any text editor. It is advisable to switch on line numbering to display bar numbers whilst editing.

Save Chords As...

Opens a Dialog to save the ChordFile with a filename extension chosen from a list.

Reload Midi Tracks

Reload the MidiFile, using selected tracks from the TrackMap.

May be useful if you want to use a different selection of tracks to generate the chords from.

Select All

Set the selected area to the whole song.

This is used for generating chords, and by Insert Bars, Delete Bars, Cut, Copy, Paste, and Paste Special.

Select None

Set the selected area to nothing.

If Generate Chords is clicked, this will cover the whole song.

Insert Bars

Insert empty bars at the current cursor.

The number of bars will be the same as the number of bars in the selected area

This will only affect the chords - not the MidiFile or Lyrics.

All chords after the selected area will be moved to the right.

Notes in the MidiFile will remain the same, but the time signatures may change.

Caution: Any chords that run off the end will be removed!

Delete Bars

Delete bars in the selected area.

All chords after the selected area will be moved to the left.

Notes in the MidiFile will remain the same, but the time signatures may change.

Cut

Copy chords, keys, and time signatures from the selected area to the Copy Buffer, and clear chords from the selected area.

Shortcut key is Ctrl/X.

Copy

Copy chords, keys, and time signatures from the selected area to the Copy Buffer.

Shortcut key is Ctrl/C.

Paste

This will open up a new window with options for pasting data from the Copy Buffer.

Shortcut key is Ctrl/V.

Trans Select

This will transpose all the chords in the selected area by the interval entered in the accompanying dialog.

Undo

Undo last change.

Shortcut key is Ctrl/Z.

This will undo any changes to the chords, keys, time signatures, or song length.

Redo

Redo last undone change.

Shortcut key is Ctrl/Y.

This will redo any changes to the chords, keys, time signatures, or song length.

Play Midi This

Play the MidiFile using the tracks in the ChordMap

Colours

Open the ChordMap Colours Configuration Window.

Calc Keys

Open the CalcKeys Window.

This will allow you to generate keys from the MidiFile or ChordFile.

A dialog will be shown if there are multiple choices of where to generate the keys from.

Generate Chords

Generate chords using the current Chord Div settings (Bar, Bar/2, Beat, or Auto).

This will create new chords in the Chord Notes panel, based on the minimum time interval selected with the Chord Div option.
