As a result of loading the NetworkTrace.dll into Map 3D, you see a map appear in the drawing pane. It looks like a plan of a suburban road network. This map is derived from the contents of the Roads.sdf file that is located in the NetworkTrace\SDF folder.If you scroll through the command-line output, you see three lines of response textNetwork Trace Sample application initialized.,

Command:

_zoom,

Specify corner of window, enter a scale factor (nX or nXP), or [All/Center/Dynamic/Extents/Previous/Scale/Window/Object] <real time>:

_extents, and Regenerating model..

It is advisable to use the zoom and pan tools to enlarge a portion of the map so that locating the end points of lines in the drawing easier.

At the

Command:

prompt enter the command NetworkTrace.

The first result is a prompt

Start point of the trace:

. In the drawing pane move the cursor over the map until a small square appears indicating that the cursor is positioned over the end point of a line. Click to select the point. The second result is another prompt

End point of the trace:

. Position the cursor over an end point and click to select it. As a result, a path between the two points is drawn over the map.
NoteBefore running the NetworkTrace command again, select the right-click the Result node in the Display Manager and select Remove Layer.
