Change file properties
You can change document properties from the currently open document or from the list in the Open dialog box:
From the
current document- On the File menu, click Properties.
- Do any of the following:
- On the Summary tab, edit the values for standard properties, such as Title and Author.
- On the Custom tab, edit custom properties.
- If you opened the document from a document library, the document library-specific properties are displayed in a form. Edit any field and then click OK or, to view and edit other properties, click File Properties.
- On the Standard toolbar, click Open

- In the Open dialog box, select the document for which you want to edit properties.
- On the Tools menu, click Properties.
- Do any of the following:
- On the Summary tab, edit the values for standard properties, such as Title and Author.
- On the Custom tab, edit custom properties you have defined.
