Create a shortcut to a folder on a Web server

Before you can create a shortcut to folder on a Web server, you should ask your system administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for the URL of a Web site you can save files to.
Windows 2000 and Windows Millennium Edition

From the New File task pane in any Office XP program, click Add Network Place.
If the New File task pane is closed, click File, and then click New.

Click Create a shortcut to an existing Network Place, and then click Next.

Type the URL of the Web server.

Type a name for the network place, and then click Finish.

From the New File task pane in any Office XP program, click Add Web Folder.
If the New File task pane is closed, click File, and then click New.

Click Create a shortcut to an existing Web Folder, and then click Next.

Type the URL of the Web server.

Type a name for the network place, and then click Finish.
Note The Office Add Network Place Wizard is used for setting up shortcuts to folders on Web and FTP servers only. To create a shortcut to a folder on a network file server:
- In Windows 2000 and Windows Millennium Edition, use the Add Network Place Wizard in My Network Places.
- In Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 98, use My Network Neighborhood.
