About checking spelling

After you install Microsoft Office 2003 Proofing Tools, you can check the spelling of text in different languages the same way you check the spelling of text in your language. However, in some Microsoft Office 2003 programs, you must first select the spelling dictionary for the language in which you want to check spelling. For information about changing the spelling dictionary and checking the spelling of text in a different language by using an Office program, see Help for that program.

Note  The spelling checker may not be available, depending on the Office program and language you are working in.

In Microsoft Office Word 2003, you can allow Word to select the correct language dictionary automatically, so that you can check the spelling of text as you type. To do so, do the following:

1. Enable editing for the language.
2. Turn on automatic language detection.
3. Make sure the correct language dictionary is installed.
