Install an IME on Microsoft Windows XP
- On the Windows Start menu, click Control Panel.
- Click Add or Remove Programs, and then click Add or Remove Programs again.
- Click Microsoft Office 2003 Proofing Tools, and then click Change.
- Click Add or Remove Features, and then click Next.
- Click the plus sign (+) next to the East Asian language you want to enable the IME for.
- Click the plus sign next to Alternative User Input, click the arrow next to the IME component, and then click Run all from My Computer.
- Click Install.
Install an IME on Microsoft Windows 2000
- On the Windows Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Click Microsoft Office 2003 Proofing Tools, and then click Change.
- Click Add or Remove Features, and then click Next.
- Click the plus sign (+) next to the East Asian language you want to enable the IME for.
- Click the plus sign next to Alternative User Input, click the arrow next to the IME component, and then click Run all from My Computer.
- Click Install.
After you install an IME, you can display it on the Language bar.
- Start an Office 2003 program.
- On the Language bar, click the language indicator, and then click the language for the IME you want.
If the Language bar is hidden, right-click the Microsoft Windows taskbar, point to Toolbars, and then click Language bar on the shortcut menu. In the Windows taskbar, right-click the Language bar, and then click Restore the Language bar on the shortcut menu.
