Install and display an Input Method Editor (IME)

1. On the Windows Start menu, click Control Panel.
2. Click Add or Remove Programs, and then click Add or Remove Programs again.
3. Click Microsoft Office 2003 Proofing Tools, and then click Change.
4. Click Add or Remove Features, and then click Next.
5. Click the plus sign (+) next to the East Asian language you want to enable the IME for.
6. Click the plus sign next to Alternative User Input, click the arrow next to the IME component, and then click Run all from My Computer.
7. Click Install.

1. On the Windows Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click Microsoft Office 2003 Proofing Tools, and then click Change.
4. Click Add or Remove Features, and then click Next.
5. Click the plus sign (+) next to the East Asian language you want to enable the IME for.
6. Click the plus sign next to Alternative User Input, click the arrow next to the IME component, and then click Run all from My Computer.
7. Click Install.

After you install an IME, you can display it on the Language bar.

1. Start an Office 2003 program.
2. On the Language bar, click the language indicator, and then click the language for the IME you want.

   If the Language bar is hidden, right-click the Microsoft Windows taskbar, point to Toolbars, and then click Language bar on the shortcut menu. In the Windows taskbar, right-click the Language bar, and then click Restore the Language bar on the shortcut menu.
